Lucas Horns New Alto Pre WW2 and Post WW2

British Pre WW2 plus Post WW2 Lucas New Alto Car Horns information

From early 1930 Lucas had New Alto Horns for Cars, 6 Volts 12 Volts & in a variety of forms with terminals & threads plus material differences up to WW2, the number Lucas used always started with (High Frequency) HF7-- pre WW2, eg's 748 & 722 724 728. Post WW2 it would have a number 1 added as a prefix 1722 1728 1748 etc whilst pre & Post WW2 Grilles used were a very wide range & often changed always a way to save costs. some with logo emblems & others with inbuilt ones, take a look at some of those sub standard grilles in the pic.
The 1950's onwards MAZAK Alloy HF 1722 1724 1748 etc ones fitted to Jaguar Austin Healey & a heckuva lot of other British Classics & the Military WD ones would very often be 24 Volts for Lorries etc. So beware of what you pick up at Swapmeets & Autojumbles.
